The Marché des Capucins, known as the “capus” by locals will engage your eyes as much as your taste buds! Your guide will help you navigate between the stalls and vendors, rubbing elbows with local chefs doing their morning shopping! In addition to superb quality food, this market is full of interesting characters. Many of the vendors are authentic farmers, and will gladly discuss their job and share their passion with you. Our tour of the market is truly an invitation to a French table.

Fantastic Farmers Market tour
Our Bordeaux Farmers Market tour was an excellent way to learn about the food and wines of the local area. We learnt so much and had the opportunity to sample many of the delicacies.
Hela was a great tour guide; very personable and knowledgeable. She was also keen to learn from us which made this a great two-way exchange of information.
This was an extremely worthwhile way to spend 2.5 hours and so much better than many other tours we have completed both in the UK and Bordeaux previously.

Excellent tour of "Belly of Bordeaux"
We were a party of 6 so we chose to do a private tour of the Marche of Capucins with Hela the owner of Bordeaux Walking Tours as it was an affordable option. I found Hela to be lovely - from our first of many emails that she responded to thoroughly and quickly to the tour where she was entertaining and very knowledgeable. We were there for my son's wedding and after her tour I knew where to buy all the bits I needed for a little party I was hosting the next day. I felt like a local as I knowingly navigated the market the next day buying cheeses, veggies, fruits and olives. A really great way to get oriented to beautiful Bordeaux and feel a little bit like a local!

No better way to discover Bordeaux
We had a long walk around the city with Hela (English native speaker) who knows really everything about Bordeaux, French history & wines. A very entertaining storyteller - we are really happy to discover Bordeaux this way. We now know far more about the city than the friends who have always been living here. And the info, the booking & paying thru website & SMS were so easy. 10 points !!!
